Teen boy needs help to get an ID document
His mother died while he was a toddler and his father died a couple years ago.
A 16-year-old boy is appealing for a help to get an identity book. Ntando Khoza, from Kaalfontein extension 22, said his mother died while he was a toddler and his father died a couple years ago.
“I have been struggling to apply for an identity book at Home Affairs because I do not have a birth certificate or my mother’s identity book. Home Affairs told me they need those two documentsor there is nothing they can do for me. I only have my father’s identity book and death certificate,” he said.
He added that he does not know anything about his mother’s relatives or family. “I know my father’s familyand they do not want to tell me about who mother was, or anything that can lead me to find her family. I am staying with my guardian, who was my dad’s friend, and he has been taking a good care of me,” he explained. The grade 10 learner at Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School, further explained that he used a letter from Kaalfontein Primary School for his admission to Oracle.
“I am afraid that in two years I might not be able to write my matric exams because I have no ID book. I really need help now so that it can secure my future. Life of today is very hard without education. Without an ID book I might end up nowhere. I do not want to end up being like those taking drugs and alcohol to take away their frustrations. I want to become a chartered accountantand I am very confident about it,” he said. Khoza is a born again christian at RHEMA Bible Church and shares his experiences with learners at his school during assemblies and RCL meetings. He said the Word of God builds his inner strength as it has been hard for him over the past years.
