Woman killed in collision with truck on Atlas Road

A woman has died and seven others were injured in an accident between a car and truck on Atlas Road at Denel on Friday morning.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesman, said paramedics arrived on the scene and found a car in the veld next to the road. A truck stood along the roadside a few metres away.

On assessment, paramedics found the female passenger of the light motor vehicle had already succumbed to her injuries prior to their arrival.

Seven other patients were found with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and transported them to various hospitals for further care.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
