Police investigate Rabie Ridge cash-in-transit bombing

Firearms including a rifle and a pistol were taken before suspects escaped in a white Ford Ranger, Toyota Prado, and a gold Mercedes-Benz.

Police are investigating a cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery after a cash van was bombed and money stolen in Rabie Ridge on Monday, October 27.

According to Colonel Dimakatso Nevhululwi, the suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

“It was reported that the cash van was travelling along Mapheto Drive when a light blue Chevrolet Cruiser rammed into it and the occupants opened fire, forcing the van to stop,” said Nevhululwi.

A crowd gathers around and on top of an overturned bus, looking concerned. Trees and faint structures fill the background, creating a tense atmosphere.
