BMW M440d xDrive revealed with 250 kW!

While it isn't a full-blown M car, it comes fitted with M performance treatment plus an M sports differential.

BMW in Europe has added a diesel-powered M-branded model in the form of the M440d xDrive to its 4 Series range.

While it isn’t a full-blown M car, it comes fitted with M performance treatment plus an M sports differential. Its power comes from a 3.0-litre inline-six diesel engine with 250 kW of power and 700 Nm of torque.

It also features a standard eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via an xDrive AWD system.

BMW says the M440d xDrive can be dispatched from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds while sipping only 5.7l/100km of fuel.

In SA, BMW currently offers the 420i, 420d and M440i xDrive and it remains unknown if the local arm of the German brand will bring the M440d to our shores.
