Fine art photography + wildlife = exceptional book
For those who appreciate jaw-droppingly sensational, fine art photography and are lovers of wildlife, this book – a massive, hard cover coffee table book Sacred Nature 2: Reconnecting People to Our Planet - would quite possibly be the buy of the year.
Jonathan and Angela Scott are the only couple to have both won the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition as individuals … and for those who appreciate jaw-droppingly sensational, fine art photography and are lovers of wildlife, their latest book – a massive, hard cover coffee table book Sacred Nature 2: Reconnecting People to Our Planet – would quite possibly be the buy of the year.
The 140-odd images capture the wonder of our planet’s wild landscapes, from the animal-filled savannas of East Africa to the crystal deserts of Antarctica … the beauty highlights the urgent need for all of us to reconnect with nature, and reminds us (not that most of us need reminding) of what we stand to lose. From savannah to forest, deserts to mountains, oceans to polar regions, the couple’s intention was to reveal the wonder and beauty of our world, instilling a sense of awe and concern for its wellbeing. And by golly, in this book they did that, and more.
Jonathan and Angela are patrons and ambassadors for a number of conservation organisations … the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia, the Kenya Wildlife Trust’s Mara Cheetah Project, the Colobus Organisation, Galapagos Conservation Trust and the Bishop Simeon Trust. Reconnecting People to Our Planet is published by HPH Publishing, and costs R1195 from www.hphpublishing.co.za or good book stores.
