It is a wrap for Rotax Max racing at Zwartkops for 2022

Karting is an exceptionally precise sport that leaves little or no margin for errors.

The 2022 champions have been crowned and adrenaline levels can now take a breather while drivers enjoy a well-deserved holiday to recuperate for the 2023 season.

The Mini Max, Micro Max and Bambinos raced their regional finals, with the others racing for RKC club points. That, along with some new drivers and others taking their first runs in their new age groups for 2023, made for some interesting and most entertaining racing.

In the Baby Bambinos class, three races delivered three different winners. Diego Antunes emerged as the overall class winner.

Grottis won DD2.

Kegan Martin edged opening race winner, Spice Mailula two U3 Mini Max races to one. Rafael Da Silva put his Grand Finals experience to great effect to beat Emma Dowling to all three under-11 Micro Max wins.

Erich Heystek won Junior Max honours from newcomer Mauro Da Luz.

Last, but not least, Kian Grottis delivered a fine couple of wins to win his first open class DD2 win. Ming Ma took the Masters’ win, while Philippe Chapat beat Robert Fulton to DD2 Vets honours.

Victor ludorum awards were handed to Junior driver Caleb Odendaal and Senior lad KC Ensor Smith Senior.
