Teacher murdered in Azaadville
This is the third murder, after a father and son were murdered earlier this month.
A school teacher has been murdered in Azaadville early this morning, 15 March, according to a member of the Azaadville Community Policing Forum.
The deceased was a teacher for many years in Azaadville and also taught at a local college.
This is the third murder in Azaadville in March this year. Shabier Dabhelia, CPF and Neighbourhood Watch chairperson previously told the News that the community has not seen a murder for over three years before the double murder of Haroon Saleh and his son Yosuf on 3 March. This happened after the murder of community icon Haroon Saleh (65) and his son Yosuf (29) in Azaadville on Thursday morning 3 March.
“Two men entered the premises and gained entry into the family house. The father woke up and struggled with the intruders. His son then woke up and tried to help his father,” he said.
The suspects were allegedly armed and shot both father and son during the struggle. The father has since passed away, but his son has already been sent home from hospital.
“They got away with two cellphones,” the member who wishes to remain anonymous, said.
The News is awaiting comment from police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya about the teacher’s murder.
