Police visit Ebies to create school safety awareness

The Krugersdorp Police and other stakeholders recently visited Laerskool Ebenhaeser for a fun day and to create school safety awareness.
The Krugersdorp Police corporate communications officer, Captain Raymond Sebonyane said in a statement they visited the school on May 10 with the social crime coordinator, Gauteng Police Highway Patrol, the West Rand Police K9 Unit, West Rand Flying Squad, Johannesburg Police Mounted Unit, and the Johannesburg Police Accident Unit.

They were accompanied by representatives of West Rand Municipal Health, Social Crime, West Rand Disaster Management, Mogale City Public Safety, EPR Security, Fluffy Security, Cordi Guard Security, Foster Tech Security, Delta Blue Security, Mapogo a Mathamaga Security, Department of Community Safety, Department of Social Development, Department of Health, community development workers, WAWA, Teddy Bear Clinic, Westview Clinic, and Events emergency services.
The purpose of the event was to inform the learners about their safety in and around the school premises, and get to know the law-enforcement services. Bullying, substance abuse, human trafficking, fighting, stealing and road safety tips were addressed.”
All the stakeholders were given an opportunity to showcase the services they render to the community, and one of the school teachers, Elizna Boshoff thanked everyone on behalf of the principal.
“The learners were encouraged to report any criminal activities immediately by calling the Krugersdorp Police on 011 951 1151, the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or sending an SMS to 32211; alternatively communicate via the My SAPS app which can be downloaded from any smartphone and remain anonymous.”
