Fake police officers sought

Police from Krugersdorp and Muldersdrift are searching for men who posed as police officers.

Three hijackers dressed in police uniforms are being sought by the Krugersdorp and Muldersdrift South African Police Service.

Lieutenant Katlego Mogale, a police spokesperson says that a suspects abandoned an Audi S3 after hitting a speed bump at high speed on the R540 Krugersdorp on Saturday 5 October.

The vehicle, fitted with blue lights and a siren, was hijacked in Olievenhoutbos in Centurion in September.

Mogale says the three men flagged down a bakkie belonging to a nearby nature reserve and forced the driver at gunpoint to drive them from the scene.

“Minutes later they abandoned the bakkie on the M5 in Muldersdrift and hijacked a white Hyundai Tucson, which they also abandoned, leaving a handheld radio inside.”
