Chamdor will experience a planned power outage this weekend, August 22 to 23.

The outage will take place between 06:00 and 18:00. According to Mogale City Local Municipality’s assistant manager for Media and PR, Refilwe Mahlangu, the interruption is necessary to carry out essential refurbishment work at the Chamdor Substation, aimed at improving the reliability, safety and efficiency of the electrical infrastructure.

“As this area is mostly an industrial area, we are doing this over the weekend to minimise business operation disruptions; however, residents in adjacent streets can also be affected,” she said.

Mahlangu concluded by advising residents and businesses to switch off electrical appliances during the outage to help prevent damage from power surges when the electricity supply is restored.
