Krugersdorp to face 12-hour power outage

Residents and businesses should prepare for a planned 12-hour power outage at the end of the month while Eskom conducts essential maintenance.

Residents and businesses across town can expect a planned power outage on March 29 that is expected to last about 12 hours.

Mogale City Local Municipality’s assistant manager for media and PR, Refilwe Mahlangu, said the outage will affect the entire town from 06:00 until about 18:00.

“The outage is necessary to allow Eskom to conduct full bay maintenance at the Westgate substation in Krugersdorp,” she explained.

She also warned residents to treat all electrical equipment as live and to switch off appliances to prevent possible damage when the power supply is restored.
