Listen: Munsieville Maskandi artist makes musical comeback

After a six-year break, a Munsieville musician is making a comeback with his new Maskandi love song.

Local musician Riccardo Mashesha Mqabuleni is set to make his return to the music scene after a seven-year break, with a new love song, Piano, due for release at the end of August.

Riccardo, who has been passionate about music for more than a decade, describes the art form as both a ‘painkiller’ and a game. Although he also has a passion for acting and drama, music remains closest to his heart.

The Maskandi artist has released songs including Ubuhle Bakho, Khumbul’ekhaya and Ungazodlal Ngami, and has worked with several groups in the Maskandi music industry, including Abafana Bakamashobane, Bobo Mfana Wepiki and Ithwasa Lendidane.

Riccardo began his music career in the mid-2010s, but his last song was released in 2019.

He is now preparing to release Piano on August 30 and will be available on platforms such as Spotify and YouTube.
