NELSPRUIT – A huge honour was bestowed on the Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism (KLCBT) when it received the 2013 Chamber of the Year award at the annual South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Sacci) awards ceremony last week.

This was in recognition of its exceptional success in a challenging business environment. Sacci decided to highlight the chamber because it had attained financial sustainability and retained membership in difficult times without grant funding of any kind for the projects undertaken.

The aim of the awards is to promote the value of chamber membership to the business community, to encourage excellence in its activities, recognise positive efforts in membership recruitment and retention and the achievement of solid financial sustainability.

Sacci lauded its exceptional membership and said it believed all the chambers which had been nominated, demonstrated excellence in their daily activities and motivations for the award. Four of the chambers that were nominated had been winners over the past four years. Sacci also mentioned the fact that KLCBT had continued to display creativity, originality, dynamism, value to members and substantial benefit to the community in general.

It is the leading voice of organised business and tourism in the Lowveld. It supports both sectors through a range of services like networking events and providing comprehensive information to visitors of the region. The chamber also strives towards its vision of developing and promoting the Lowveld region as the province’s primary tourism and investment destination.

For more information visit the KLCBT offices at the Crossing Centre in Nelspruit or contact them on 013-755-1988.
