BARBERTON – Breast cancer is on the increase at an alarming rate and according to Health24, this is the leading disease in women.
“One in six South African men and one in seven women will get cancer during their lives.
“This condition is a great equaliser. It knows no boundaries of class, race and gender, sex or age. It can strike anyone at any time.” wrote Liesel Powell of Health24.

Here in town, it can be done at Barberton Pharmacy on a regular basis and at a fraction of the normal cost.
Regardless of the bitter cold and rain on Saturday morning, a few Barbertonians took to the streets in pink outfits to create awareness about breast cancer.
The cheerful crowd departed from Wimpy with the brass band of the Salvation Army. Proceeds of the activities will go towards CANSA for further research.
