Rock and Ride for Rhino’s

They have seen over 12 000 learners, visited more than 20 schools and are still at it.

NELSPRUIT – They have potentially raised over R3 million, which makes
this the largest conservation fund-raising effort to date. This is the motorcycle tour called Rock ’n Ride for Rhino (RNR4R).
Wessa Lowveld is hosting a concert for conservation in the Casterbridge Museum in White River featuring Jason Hartman’s nationwide tour. He is an avid conservationist and biker. RNR4R tour comprises an epic 15000+ kilometre motorcycle route around Southern Africa in the shape of a rhino’s head. There are three other members in the band: Scott Hartman on drums, Sam Hartman on guitar and vocals and Quinton Askess on bass.
Proceeds from the concert will go towards Wessa’s rhino initiative. In the last two years the organisation has received three awards for its anti- rhino poaching interventions. In 2012, it was joint runner-up in the NGO category for The Game Rangers Association of Africa annual awards for its contribution to rhino conservation. And in 2013 its rhino-poaching interventions were recognised at the Mail & Guardian’s 2013 Greening the Future Awards. Project Rhino KZN, of which it is a founding member, was the winning project in the awards’ rhino-rescue category. Wessa was also runner-up in the same category for the Game Reserves United (GRU) project.
Tickets for the concert are on sale at Green Door Casterbridge, Riverside Mall Information, SUPERSPAR Crossing and Country Flowers at the Pick n Pay Centre in White River.
