After nearly a year, missing girl found
Police confirmed that the 17-year-old girl, Ms Annike Kruger who had gone missing from her home on November 10, 2012, has finally been found.
NELSPRUIT – Police investigation officer, WO Alfred Dladla confirmed that Kruger had phoned him on Saturday morning to tell him that she was safe and living in Margate.
Dladla said that she explained she had already been contacting her family on a weekly basis. “She says she is living in Margate and is not with a boyfriend. She is keeping in touch with her mother as well, but as of yet her mother has not confirmed this with the police.”
Last year Kruger’s family woke up in the morning to find her gone. She had gone missing from her father’s home.
They first suspected that she was with a man she had previously been involved with which led to her emotionally traumatised father searching for his daughter for nearly a year.
While she had been missing, there had been reports that Kruger could have been in the company of an older man en route to Port Shepstone or Springs.
Yet, Mpumalanga police spokesman Sgt Gerald Sedibe said the case was now closed as official contact had been made with the missing girl.
