Four killed after minibus and truck collide on N11 near Doornkop
Three men and a woman lost their lives in an early morning accident on the N11 near Doornkop outside Middelburg.

According to a statement issued by the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison the accident occurred when a truck and a minibus were involved in a “side swipe collision” at around 04:00 today (Friday 14 June).
The impact caused the minibus to overturn. Four people were declared dead on the scene whilst four were transported to hospital with serious injuries and another eight sustained slight injuries. The minibus carried 16 people.

According to Moeti Mmusi, spokesperson for the department, the occupants in the minibus are believed to have been travelling from the Eastern Cape to Moria in Limpopo for religious purposes.
Communuty Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Gabisile Shabalala raised concerns about the high death toll on the N11.
“We are worried about (the) N11 Road in Middelburg as it continues to claim many people’s lives,” she said.
