Deputy chairperson of the initiative Linda Padayachey said DIA hopes to overcome all the bad things, including crime which is happening in Midrand and South Africa.
In a bid to fight the crime scourge around Midrand, and in the country, police and local churches launched Divine Intervention Approach (DIA).
The launch took place at President Park’s Life Central Bikers Church on August 22. The DIA initiative seeks to mitigate and fight crime through prayers and more police visibility in the suburbs.

Deputy chairperson of the initiative Linda Padayachey said they urge the public and other churches to join forces with the police in fighting lawlessness.
“DIA desires that all the other stakeholders such as the Community Policing Forums, community members, and different organisations work with us, so that we can all overcome all the bad things, including crime that is happening in our area of Midrand, and South Africa at large,” said Padayachey.
DIA came through Major General Max Masha, who will be retiring soon.

Padayachey added that working together might have a positive impact in crime-ridden communities.
Pastor Ulusola Joseph Dada, from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Hope and Glory of Midrand, then prayed for all the socio-economic challenges including crime and drug abuse.
Lieutenant Colonel Signoria Figlan, on behalf of the station commander Brigadier David Molefi Tsotsotso, thanked those in attendance
“On behalf of the station commander, we would like to convey our message of gratitude for such an initiative to launch the DIA. We will go back and give feedback to Brigadier Tsotsotso on what transpired here today. And we don’t take your presence here for granted because you opted to be here. And for that, we appreciate the efforts and ensure that the structure exists within the community safety structures,” said Figlan.
DIA will go on their first prayer walk on September 7.
