Man arrested for wife’s alleged murder

A 35-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife in Kagiso, Krugersdorp, in Gauteng.

The suspect was arrested last Thursday at his in-laws’ house in Kagiso Extension 1 after allegedly stabbing his wife to death, Krugersdorp News reported.

Krugersdorp police spokesperson Constable Tshepiso Mashale said police were called to the scene, where they found the suspect and arrested him.

“The victim sustained multiple stab wounds. Paramedics declared the woman dead on the scene,” said Mashale.

The suspect appeared in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

In a separate incident, a man shot dead his wife before turning the gun on himself in Weltevreden Park, Roodepoort, in Gauteng on Tuesday night.

It is believed their three-year-old daughter, who was with her parents at the time of the shooting, ran out of her home and went to call for help from the security guards at the main entrance.

The child reportedly told security her father was hurting the mother.

Residents went to inspect the scene and found two bodies, a man and a woman, lying in a pool of blood, police said.
