Covid-19 Update: Number of confirmed cases in SA now at 723 682

Recoveries in South Africa now stands at 653 052

As of yesterday, 30 October, the total number of detected Covid-19 cases is 723 682 with 1 912 new cases identified since the last report.

The cumulative number of tests conducted to date is 4 800 823 with 23 214 new tests conducted.

The Department of Health reports 66 Covid-19 related deaths:

  • 21 from Eastern Cape
  • 2 from Gauteng
  • 7 from the Free State
  • 8 from KwaZulu Natal
  • 2 from Mpumalanga
  • 18 from North West
  • 4 from Northern Cape
  • 4 from Western Cape.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 related deaths to 19 230.

Recoveries in South Africa now stands at 653 052 which translates to a current recovery rate of 90%.
