Limpopo: Suspect in Annette Kennealy murder case to remain in custody

The 40-year-old suspect, an employee of the deceased, was arrested on 21 May following the gruesome discovery of the body of local farmer and activist against farm attacks, 51-year-old Annette Kennealy

A 40-year-old suspect arrested in connection with the murder of Annette Kennealy appeared in the Makhado Magistrate’s Court on Monday 1 July, on a charge of murder, Polokwane Review reports.

The arrest comes after Kennealy was attacked and killed by unknown suspects on the Welgevonden farm, outside Makhado in May 2019.

Family members tried to contact Kennealy but to no avail. A family member then found her inside her house, with multiple stab wounds to her body, lying in a pool of blood, explained Police Spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

The suspect is still in custody and the case was postponed to 9 July 2019.
