According to Tiaan Jacobs, SOS General Manager, he was on his way to shooting range when he saw a commotion with cars reversing away. He saw suspects robbing a silver Toyota Hilux and engaged them with his firearm. They fled the scene in their vehicle and then crashed at the offramp. Seemingly, they managed to hijack another vehicle to make their getaway.

The officer couldn’t advance due to the suspects firing back at him.
