Shoot out in Bedford Centre

“It is alleged that this morning at about 11am, the security guards came to collect money at a bank in the Bedford Centre when they were confronted by an unknown number of suspects. A shootout ensued wherein two security guards, three customers and two suspects were injured. Police recovered an AK 47 on the scene.”  Gauteng provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Katlego Mogale said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann  said the patients were all being treated at the scene and will be transported to various hospitals after they had sustained gunshot wounds.

Investigations are ongoing.

Johannesburg emergency services spokesperson Nana Radebe referred queries to Ekurhuleni emergency services and metro police.
