Suzuki accelerates: Impressive sales growth continues

Although sales for 2024 still trails that of the corresponding period in 2023, Suzuki Auto South Africa is building good momentum for 2024.

Suzuki Auto South Africa has kicked off its new financial year and the second quarter of the calendar year with remarkable momentum. Sales figures surged, propelling Suzuki into second place in April’s overall vehicle rankings.

Henno Havenga, Suzuki Auto South Africa’s sales and marketing general manager, remarks: “New vehicle sales are facing pressure due to high interest rates, fuel prices and living costs. Despite this, Suzuki’s refreshed vehicle range, offering competitive pricing and low running costs, remains appealing to buyers.”

Havenga’s observations align with official vehicle sales statistics from Naamsa, the automotive industry business council. April saw a 2.2% increase in total sales compared to last year, with passenger vehicles comprising the majority.

Though April’s sales rose, year-to-date cumulative figures still trail behind 2023’s. Despite this, Suzuki Auto South Africa had its busiest period in its decade-and-a-half history from April 2022 to March 2023. With the introduction of popular models like the Eeco panel van, Grand Vitara and XL6 family MPV, Suzuki has positioned itself favourably for 2024.
