Man found killed on Pta smallholding

A case of murder is under investigation after a man was found shot and killed in Laezonia, Centurion on Monday morning,

Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said police and security responded to an alarm at a smallholding on the R511 road on Monday where a 25-year-old man was found in a pool of blood in an outside room, Rekord Centurion reported.

“According to the information given to the police, the plot is used as business premises where livestock is sold. Two suspects however were seen at the premises earlier in the morning,” added Moloto.

He said gunshots were heard coming from the room which was used as an office for the business.

“Nothing was taken. Police also learned that the owner of the plot was not around during this incident. It was only the employee that was left to safeguard the place.”

The deceased had bullet wounds in the upper body and was declared dead by paramedics on the scene.

“We are yet to confirm the motive of the killing. No arrests have been made. The name of the deceased was withheld until the family was notified,” Moloto said.
