Body of zama-zama found dumped on street by ‘friends’ in Riverlea

A passerby on his way to work this morning was horrified when he witnessed a group of illegal miners emerging from the open pit mining area carrying a body in Riverlea, Johannesburg, Soweto Urban reports.

The body was wrapped in plastics and, according to the eyewitness, the body was left on Avon Street at about 6am this morning.

Papers that contain the contact numbers of the deceased were found on the body.

Witnesses said it was inhumane of his friends to have left his body so unceremoniously on the street.

Police are at the scene and further details will be released pending their investigation into the gruesome find.
