After finishing third last year, Dr KK continued their fine run of form at the Bellville Velodrome with a 56-45 victory over their fancied Gauteng opponents.

They were two points clear at the top of the standings, with four matches to play in the round robin phase of the tournament.

Defending champions Mangaung Metro and Gauteng North, losing finalists last year, were in a tie for second place.

Boland were a further two points behind with a game in hand, while at the opposite end of the table, Gauteng West were the only top-flight team without a point.
