Impey narrowly misses on stage win

Daryl Impey produced a superb ride, taking second place on stage two of the Tour Down Under in Australia on Wednesday.

Impey, riding for Orica-GreenEdge, was narrowly beaten by Spaniard Juan Jose Lobato (Movistar) who won a dash for the line, completing the 150km leg from Unley to Stirling in 3:42:24.

The South African climbed to fourth place in the general classification, seven seconds behind Australian Jack Bobridge (UniSA) who retained his overall lead.

The 143km third stage on Wednesday will take the field from Norwood to Paracombe.
