Athletics SA names huge World Champs squad

Athletics South Africa has announced a 63-member provisional squad for the IAAF World Championships in Beijing in August.

The federation’s president, Aleck Skhosana, said they expected numerous changes, however, ahead of the August 10 qualifying deadline set by the global governing body. A number of athletes in the squad had not yet qualified, while there would still be opportunities for omitted athletes to book their places at the biennial showpiece.

“The final team will be announced closer to the event,” Skhosana confirmed. National athletics squad for the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China (22-23 August, 2015):
