A Pretoria domestic worker and an elderly woman were found murdered in a house at Makotopong Village, outside Limpopo, earlier this week.
Maggie Molefe (44) and her employer Moloko Enestinah Nkoana (88) were last seen on 16 August and were found on Tuesday by the Nkoana’s daughter, who wanted to pay them a visit.
She found both bodies partly decomposed, according to Limpopo police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.
“Preliminary investigations have found that the Nkoana might have been strangled and Molefe had stab wounds throughout her body.”
Molefe was from Seane Village in Hammanskraal.
The motive of the killing was still unclear. However, police suspect the murders came after a robbery. as the deceaseds’ cellphones were missing.
A massive manhunt was launched for the murderers. Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba expressed shock at the killings and condemned acts of crime against women during Women’s Month.
“No stone will be left unturned on this matter because we have assigned highly dedicated detectives to deal with it. We encourage the support to the police with quality and reliable information until the perpetrators are brought to book.”
