According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Dave Miller, three armed robbers entered a pizza outlet at Park View Shopping Centre on Wednesday, Rekord East reported.

“A customer at the Romans Pizza was robbed of his cellphone and watch,” he said.

One of the robbers apparently entered the pizza outlet and demanded a cellphone from the customer.

The customer refused, and a struggle ensued.

Miller said a shot was fired and added no one was injured.

“The robbers fled in a black Audi A4. The man who was robbed suffered scratches to his head and was transported to hospital,” he said.

A case of armed robbery is being investigated by police.

Last month, video footage surfaced of an armed robbery at Shamrock Fisheries in Kraaifontein, Cape Town.

In the video, two robbers are seen casually entering the shop, followed by two others pretending to be customers.

The robbers then pull out guns and order customers and staff members behind the counter.

Later, one of the robbers returns with a staff member to the tills and loads money into a bag.

The four men then make off with an undisclosed amount of money and cellphones.
