This is the man who’s considered by some to be abrasive, and by others, just a straight talker. Here’s a list of four Malema moments that caused a stir.

1. Malema calls Lindiwe Mazibuko a “tea girl”

Malema refused to engage in a debate with former DA parliamentarian Lindiwe Mazibuko, calling her “the Madam’s tea girl” and “a political none entity”.

2. Malema on ‘pay back the money’

The EFF and its leader Julius Malema called on President Jacob Zuma to pay back part of the money that was spent in his Nkandla home.

3. Malema in a brawl in Tzaneen

Cassie Moller became involved in a confrontation with the Economic Freedom Fighters’ leader Julius Malema at the counter of a fast food outlet in Tzaneen around 2am on August 6.

4. Malema calls Mbalula a hypocrite

Malema called Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula a hypocrite in parliament.
