According to Wierdabrug Sector 3 chairperson Pierre Vivier, the toddler, Siphosihle Ntuli, was found drowned in a pond in the early hours of the morning, Rekord Centurion reported.

“We received information from his parents around 04:30, saying that he was found drowned on the premises where he was presumed to have disappeared from,” Viviers said.

The Centurion community launched a search party for the boy on Saturday after he was last seen at a birthday party in Rooihuiskraal.

“We want to express our heartfelt condolences to the family during this difficult time. We also ask everyone to please give the family their privacy,” said Viviers.

In November last year, a three-year-old toddler was declared dead after she was found floating in a swimming pool.

KwaZulu-Natal Private Ambulance spokesperson Belinda Catchpole said paramedics arrived at the scene in Shelley Beach.

“The three-year-old girl had already been taken out of the water when paramedics arrived. Full advanced life support was carried out for an hour. There was no sign of life, and we declared her dead at the scene,” said Catchpole.
