Warm up your winter with hot spiced wine

This recipe for hot spiced wine includes natural sweet red wine, rum, honey, dried figs, oranges, apples, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.

Hot spiced wine is the perfect winter warmer, with its aromatic spices and rich, fruity flavours. This traditional beverage is perfect for holiday gatherings, cosy nights in, or any occasion that calls for a little bit of warmth and comfort.

Ingredients

  • 750ml Robertson Natural Sweet Red
  • 1/4 cup rum
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 6 dried figs, quartered
  • 2 oranges, juiced
  • 3 apples, chopped in 2 cm blocks
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 5 cloves

Method

  1. Chop the dried figs in quarters, juice oranges, chop apples in 2 cm blocks.
  2. Add Robertson Natural Sweet Red to a pan with all the ingredients.
  3. Bring to a simmer for 10 – 12 minutes.
  4. Turn Heat off and let infuse for another 10 minutes.
  5. Divide into cups and serve while hot.
