Armed response officers from Marshall Security were dispatched to quash a scuffle on Atterbury Drive in the Parkhill area on Thursday morning, or so they thought.

When officers arrived at the scene, they learnt that a theft had also taken place.

“The resident was engaged in a scuffle with a theft suspect who broke free and attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended by our officers,” said Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell.

The resident then informed the officers that the suspect had allegedly cut and stolen aluminium from a property on Manfred Drive, which was subsequently found in his possession.

Greenwood Park SAPS was contacted and arrived a short while later. They will be investigating further.
