Update: Life lost after vehicle crashes off bridge
The couple were being transferred to a Durban hospital when Mr Ismail Vawda sadly passed away
One of the elderly couple who were in the car that crashed off the Soofi Bridge on Thursday passed away last night (Friday) at Hilton Hospital.
The couple were seriously injured in the crash. Emergency services responded to the scene, treated the husband and wife, and rushed them to hospital.
The couple were being transferred to a Durban hospital last night (Friday) for further treatment when paramedics had to stop at the nearest hospital (Hilton Hospital) because the gentleman, Mr Ismail Vawda, was experiencing difficulties. At the hospital, staff and paramedics tried their best to stabilise him. However, their efforts were unsuccessful and Mr Vawda was declared dead.
The Mayyit of Mr Ismail (Spooky) Vawda will take place today (Saturday) at 31 Choltern Road, Shallcross, in Durban. Janaazah Salaah will be after Zuhr Salaah today at Musjid-e-Hilaal.
