Voortrekkers show kindness to Morester Children’s Home

"I felt that some of us are privileged to have the basic needs in life. We want to give those who don't have that privilege, a chance to experience it, especially during Christmas."

Christmas is a time of giving.

For denizens of Morester Children’s Home, Christmas came early as they received hampers from the Afrikaans youth organisation, the Voortrekkers.

An idea of Voortrekker, Mainè de Kock, brought smiles to the children at the home.

“I felt that some of us are privileged to have the basic needs in life. We want to give those who don’t have that privilege, a chance to experience it, especially during Christmas,” she said.

The hampers were personalised to suit both boys and girls, and consisted of basic toiletries.

House mother, Ria Naudé extended her gratitude to the Voortrekkers for their heart-felt gesture.

The Voortrekkers thanked all the sponsors who supported the initiative.
