THE MEC of Sports and Recreation in KwaZulu Natal, Bongi Sithole-Moloi, visited Ward 17 in Nkande to take Christmas to the elderly.
The ‘mkhulus’ and ‘gogos’ were given walking sticks, umbrellas, and food parcels. Wheelchairs were also handed over to those who could not walk.
The MEC also gave away sewing machines to the community project, Kotlwanong Co-Op, as a means to help members of the project learn more skills, and in future create more job opportunities.
“Many thanks to MaSithole and her husband for coming to see the Nquthu community. May God be with them and keep them for us so that they may continue to do these good deeds,” said Cllr Zikode of Ward 17.
