WEATHER: Snow sighted near Newcastle, can we expect more?
Snow Report SA, reported this morning that Normandien Pass received a blanket of snow.
For the past two days the icy breeze and chilly atmosphere, had people guessing whether it had snowed in surrounding areas or could Newcastle expect snowfall.
Here is what experts had to say:
Snow Report SA, reported this morning that Normandien Pass received a blanket of snow.

They reported that a slight possibility of some light snow could also fall in the Free State during Thursday somewhere between Clarens and Harrismith.
“There might still be some light flurries around on Friday morning over high ground in the EC Drakensberg, central EC and south western KZN.”
The South African Weather Services (SAWS) predicted snowfalls of a disruptive nature could also be expected over extreme southern Free State, Lesotho as well as southern KwaZulu-Natal and even as far north as Van Reenen’s pass today and overnight tonight.
“Friday will still see some residual snowfalls over the eastern Drakensberg, eastern parts of Eastern Cape and parts of KwaZulu-Natal, the system is expected to begin weakening and drifting eastwards towards the Indian ocean.”
