An egg-citing hunt at the market day
The market day takes place on the last Saturday of every month and is an initiative to help stall owners give back to the community
An Easter egg hunt completed the festivities at the Dealer Guys’ Easter Egg Hunt & Market Day that took place on Saturday (March 31).
Despite the gloomy weather, it made a lot of people smile as the festivities got into full swing. Not only was there an Easter egg hunt, but also stalls to wander between and do some browsing.
A live performance by ‘Beauty of Ladysmith’ had everyone in awe of their singing capabilities.
The market day takes place on the last Saturday of every month and is an initiative to help stall owners give back to the community.
Throughout the week, there is a tuck shop and a second-hand clothing store that community members can either buy from or donate to.
Terry du Plessis, who runs the market day, said, “This started as a simple school project for my sons when they were looking at career options, and it was only the tuck shop. It eventually grew into a monthly market, along with the second-hand shop, when we saw the good we were doing for the community.”
The logo is actually inspired by his two boys, Dyllan and Bryce du Plessis.
The money collected at all the events goes towards various charities or community projects, and shows the true nature and spirit of our town.
