SASSA reassures the Estcourt public after pay-out problem

Issues vented about on social media are the lengthy lines going out the doors and the bad treatment experienced

The social grant distributing agency, South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has apologised to the nation for a crisis, which led to some grant beneficiaries not being able to access their money since the beginning of this week.

Although the issues were experienced throughout the country, Estcourtonians have on-going problems at our local sassa office.

Some of the issues vented about on social media are the lengthy lines going out the doors and the bad treatment experienced.

One of the regional managers of SASSA KwaZulu Natal admitted to the Estcourt News during an interview yesterday that they are experiencing some issues regarding the pay-outs.

Mr Vusi Mahaye  also mentioned that they are under the process of reviewing steps to solve these problems and are discussing it with their management team.

When asked if there’s anything he’d like to say directly to the public to ensure them that the management has their best interests at heart, he said:

“We would like to reassure the people of Estcourt that we are working hard to try and resolve the pay-out problem”

The manager did end off with reassuring us that the problem will be under control shortly, and politely asked for everyone to remain calm and collected as they discuss further plans to deal with the problem.
