The team of six who introduced themselves and demonstrated various activities including song and dance, which seniors participated in and thoroughly enjoyed.
At least two members of the team celebrated their birthdays during the month of October and it was Zainub’s birthday on the same day. Zainub, a member of the team, sponsored tea for the occasion.
The fact that there was no water on the premises did not deter the young woman from rushing to town to purchase bottled water. This gesture was greatly appreciated.

Young Subhadra Naidoo, the only daughter of Sulochana and Selvan Naidoo, sponsored a delicious vegetarian lunch that was specially prepared by the Iskcon Prasadam Group, a well-known religious organisation.
Subhadra read out an inspiring message, which the seniors greatly appreciated. Her dad lovingly served lunch to the seniors. This is indeed a very committed family. Thank you dear friends.
Other activities carried out during the month were: The correct method of drinking water, which was demonstrated.
Screening for blood pressure and diabetes. This is on-going. Stroke – prompt referral to a doctor to avoid further complications.

Talks and demonstrations on other aspects of health affecting senior citizens are also on-going with sugar and pressure testing done whenever possible.
We thank the rehab group and the Iskcon group, not forgetting young Subhadra and her parents, for making this day a memorable one.
