Teen model amasses 700 sanitary pads
In a video shared on her social media platforms, Sharné says a pack of pads is something the fortunate often take for granted.

Sharné Dheochand has collected more than 700 sanitary pads in less than two weeks, and is more determined than ever to help the young women of Morester Youth and Child Centre feel more confident about themselves.
This beauty queen and Miss Home Meah 2018 Pageant winner has excelled in her efforts towards the empowerment of women.

Be it through charity drives, community projects or just spending time with the abandoned and neglected, she never fails to amaze those around her.
Her latest act of kindness however, is definitely one for the books as she has bombarded her social media following with pleas for sanitary pads for the girls of the centre.
To this end Sharné has stationed a trolley at Pick n Pay Hutten Heights and New Active Gold where supportive members of the community can drop off a pack of pads, which will be donated to the children’s home to help the girls embrace their ‘womanhood’ with confidence and without the embarrassing moments they so often have to face.
In a video shared on her social media platforms, Sharné says a pack of pads is something the fortunate often take for granted.
“For the girls at the home, it is so much more important,” she says.
Newcastle has most certainly not disappointed her in this quest as her trolley at Pick n Pay fills up by the day.

“A few personal donations contributed via private donations has helped me make a success of the drive.”
Sharné thanks the community for their support in helping her make sure the young girls were taken care of.
