Both the 18-year-olds are first-time voters and are looking forward to May 8.

“The elections will give us the chance to voice how you feel; you can be responsible for making the changes you want to see. I want to pursue politics and maybe the party I vote for will change my life,” said Wandile.

For Smangaliso, voting means seeing the change he wants in the country.

“I think that my vote will make a difference. I urge people, especially the youth to use their minds and choose a party that will make a change in the country. Currently we see most young people unemployed and this should change,” he said.
