1 dead in Ngome Forest logging accident

1 person was killed and another sustained moderate injuries, during a logging operation on a steep slope in the Ngome Forest this morning.

The man is believed to have sustained fatal head injury.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance personnel were transported from a staging area in a specialised 4×4 truck, after which they had a short hike to the accident scene.

Mud, mist and very steep gradients hampered the evacuation of the injured worker, who was later transported to Abaqulusi Private Hospital in Vryheid.
