Hadebe is the latest incumbent to take up the municipality’s top administrative position. His career spans 22 years in local government and 13 years in the education sector.

Originally from Hlathikhulu near Estcourt, Hadebe has held several senior leadership positions, including General Manager at Uthukela District Municipality, Human Resources Manager at Umgungundlovu FET College and Municipal Manager at Indwendwe Local Municipality.

His academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Governance and Political Transformation, a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Technology in Labour Relations and several diplomas in business management, accounting and education. He is currently pursuing a PhD through the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Addressing municipal employees during a staff briefing, Hadebe said he believes in participative leadership and fostering a positive workplace culture.

He emphasised that employees play a critical role in effective service delivery and identified clean governance, accountability and strong institutional systems as key priorities.

Economic growth and job creation are also among his priorities for Endumeni.

Hadebe said the municipality has considerable potential to attract investment and stimulate development by effectively using available land and opportunities.

Endumeni Mayor Mcebo Mkhize welcomed the appointment and expressed confidence in Hadebe’s ability to help advance the municipality’s objectives.

“We are confident that Mr Hadebe’s experience and leadership will assist the municipality in achieving its goals and serving our communities effectively,” said Mkhize.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Hadebe describes himself as a sports and music enthusiast. He is a passionate supporter of Kaizer Chiefs and enjoys playing the keyboard and saxophone.
