Shack fire victim passed away

The woman passed about eight days after she got injured during a shack fire.

The 34-year-old woman who were the victim of a shack that caught on fire on Sunday morning, 14 April 2024, passed away last night.

The woman was in Baragwanath hospital since the incident where she received treatment until her passing.

The woman had two daughters who died during the shack fire, and two cases of inquest were opened for investigation after the incident. Colonel Adéle Myburgh confirmed the passing of the woman and explained that it will be added to the investigation of inquest.

Aganang FM reported that the incident took place in Extension five, Promosa. The residents of Extension five held a Candle light on Wednesday, 17 April to bid farewell to the two girls who passed in the fire.

The community is distraught over the woman’s passing.
