Kickboxing athletes shine on national stage

Shihan Johan van der Schyff noted that he is very proud of his team.

Kickboxers from KFA Martial Arts, participated in the National Kickboxing Championship from 26 to 29 April in Newcastle in
KwaZulu-Natal.
The championship hosted more than 700 participants. KFA had 16 fighters as part of the North West team and brought back 10 gold, 11 silver, and 17 bronze medals.

Full results of the KFA kickboxers are as follows:
Kaylinn Pretorius won two gold medals and a silver medal; Talbert Joubert, one silver and three bronze; Tyler Pratten won two bronze; Coenraad Bezuidenhout won one gold and one bronze; Wico Cato won three gold and one bronze; Heinru Cato won three gold and one bronze; Mia Handford won three silver; Ruan Handford won one bronze; Mia Wernich won two silver
and two bronze; Dewald Pieterse won one bronze; Eduan Naude won one bronze; Roux Gerber won one silver; Leoneze Liebenberg won one silver and two bronze; Franco Liebenberg won one gold and two bronze; Monique Malan won two
silver medals; Hanru Gerber finished 5th.

Kickboxing has been recognised by the International Olympic Committee as an Olympic sport. Kickboxers chosen for the
national team will be awarded with Olympic rings on their tracksuits during the World Combat Games.
