Detective awarded Goodwill Shield for outstanding service in Honeydew
The Honeydew CPF Goodwill Shield has been presented to Constable Mosehla for her hard work and dedication in solving a murder case and ensuring justice for the victim.
The Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) closed off Women’s Month with a special tribute to Detective Constable Mosehla from the Honeydew SAPS detective unit.
The forum presented her with the prestigious Goodwill Shield Award, acknowledging her exceptional work on a challenging murder case.

Mosehla was assigned to investigate a murder reported on 13 May 2022 at the Honeydew Police Station. In this case, the victim succumbed to severe injuries after boiling water was poured over her by the suspect. The attack was allegedly motivated by the suspect’s belief that the victim had a relationship with her boyfriend.

Through determination and thorough investigative work, Mosehla’s efforts led to the arrest of the perpetrator, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison and declared unfit to own a firearm.
The Honeydew CPF awarded Mosehla the Goodwill Shield in a surprise ceremony during the morning briefing at her station. Her colleagues witnessed the moment, further amplifying the recognition of her commitment and hard work.
Alongside the shield, a R300 gift card, sponsored by the Panorama Residents Association, was presented as a token of appreciation for her outstanding dedication to the case.
The CPF expressed its heartfelt gratitude for Mosehla’s contributions, recognising the significant impact of her work on the community. The forum also extended thanks to the association for supporting their efforts in honouring her achievements.
