Cold weather not here to stay
Thunderstorms and heavy rains are still expected, but the weather is expected to improve as the week goes by, so says Weather South Africa.
Motorists and pedestrians will be relieved, as weather conditions are set to improve this week. “We are expecting an 80% chance of rain on Monday with localised flooding in the afternoon until the evening, but this will clear overnight,” said Weather South Africa spokesperson, William Msimanga.
After a weekend of severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, Weather SA expects the weather to improve during the week. “The forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday includes partly cloudy conditions with no rain. This will improve during the week, but there will be isolated summer showers from Thursday to Saturday,” said Msimanga.
The public is advised to take precautions during severe thunderstorms. Such precautions include being alert to lightning during thunderstorms, avoid standing close/under trees, disconnecting all electrical appliances and staying indoors. Motorists are advised to stop and park well off the road, clear of trees, power lines and streams.
